What began as a thesis grew, in just a few years, into a dynamic Antwerp scale-up that wants to make building more sustainable and affordable. Venture Campus helped secure a €165,000 Flemish innovation grant, now used to invest in digitalisation and automation.
SAM: smart adaptable modules
SAM is a unique, circular system of around ten customisable modules integrating kitchen, bathroom, heating, ventilation and electricity into a single prefabricated unit for compact city homes. The result: a considerably shorter build time and 10–15% more liveable space.
From concept to technical design in one hour
Bao Living wanted to digitalise and streamline the three phases of its process — conceptual design, technical drawing and installation. With the development grant, the step from conceptual to technical design comes down to one hour.
“With SAM we bundle the work of five subcontractors into one product and take on the full coordination too. We effectively create a dream construction site for our clients.”Axel van der Donk — mede-oprichter, Bao Living
