In a fast-growing property market, insurers and residents alike need professional, 24/7 ad-hoc insurance services. That is exactly what Keypoint aims to provide. The company received a VLAIO grant to realise its concept; Venture Campus captured the story correctly and rolled out a fitting development track.

Founders from the sector

Keypoint was founded in 2017 by Jonathan Goderis and Tijs Corneillie, two former colleagues with insurance-sector experience. The company organises repairs and maintenance to buildings across Belgium and, with Connect, is building a platform that brings together owners, property managers, service providers and insurers.

Connect: fighting fraud, optimising processes

Insurance fraud costs the Belgian sector around €250 million a year. Connect makes every step of the claims process digitally accessible and optimises it with AI, complemented by smart-home IoT sensors that report damage immediately. Repairs are thus carried out correctly and at a fair price by a trusted contractor.

We had many ideas but didn’t quite know how to fit them into a clear innovation track. Venture Campus captured it transparently — and that paid off in the final, approved application.Jonathan Goderis — mede-oprichter, Keypoint
